This month we really struggled to limit our favourite things from the month to just five... it's been a jam packed month, and an amazing one. I'm not sure we've come down from the holiday high (or the associated blues!); we all just had such an amazing time. I also think that since The Me and Mine Project began, that this might be the first time we've taken our photos quite so early in the month. Around the time that March's Me and Mine post went live, we were springing an epic surprise on my baby brother by turning up in Dubai to celebrate his birthday, and as we ticked over into April we were already making amazing family memories and capturing family photos along the way.
From standing on the 148th floor to sitting in the sea watching the sunset, from evenings meeting dinosaurs in glowing gardens to days on beautiful beaches next to icons... and that was just Dubai. We've had a jam packed month; with the Easter break, chicken pox, home improvements and days out. I have so many photos to share this month, and I had a hard time cutting it down to as many as I have; I feel like all of them are new favourites, and so many are destined for the wall.
I also feel like I have to mention here; for all the people who message me and email me asking me what camera I use, and who I always reply to with the words "I use a Nikon DSLR with a 35mm lens, but I honestly think the best camera is whatever you have to hand, because its taking the photos at all that is what really matters".... every single photo this month was taken on my iPhone. Because who has time to fuss around with camera settings when you're busy having adventures. And I owe a massive thank-you to my brother Matt, who took every one of these photos; sometimes because I asked him, and sometimes without my knowing, simply because he knows how much family photos mean to me.
Oh my goodness your trip sounds lovely! How sweet is your brother for taking your photos without being prompted! Can he give my husband some tips ;)

ReplyDeleteI think these are my favourites ever of yours Lucy, just goes to show that the camera doesn't have to matter - it's all about what you capture. Your brother captured some gorgeous ones!
ReplyDeleteWow your trip looks amazing and a photo only tells the half of it! I'm returning to Me and Mine for the first time since March 2014! I wasn't able to use my April photo for the thumbnail as it cropped the baby off but I'm looking forward to coming back each month and seeing how my little family grow and change. Without Me and Mine I only took 3 photos of all 4 of us in his first year!
ReplyDeleteSo many stunning photos - it's looks like you had the most amazing time in Dubai! The beach silhouette shot is just wonderful, and totally goes to show that you don't need a fancy camera to take fabulous shots of your family.
