June is always my favourite month. It signals the beginning of summer, and we always seem to fill it with plenty of adventures. This summer we are on the big countdown to school and preschool, and even more keen than normal to pack our days with fun. Which meant that we went out for a picnic, with the camera, ready to take our Me and Mine photos for this month, even though rain was forecast. We set up our picnic, we took our photos and approximately one minute later the heavens did open and the picnic was hastily moved under the cover of the large tree behind us. It was still fun though, a little rain never hurt anyone... and my camera baby was safely tucked away in a waterproof bag at the first hint of drizzle.
This month I am sending you to visit Alex and her boys over at Bump to Baby. Alex is a due to have a new addition to her Me and Mine line up at any time... literally. The poor lovely is overdue and desperate to meet her little man, so pop by and say hi and send lots of labour type vibes her way... assuming the little guy hasn't arrived between me scheduling this and it going live, which is always a possibility. Good luck Alex, we can't wait to meet the newest member of the Me and Mine family when he makes his arrival.
Oh I love that you went for a picnic despite the weather forecast- it must be a British summer tradition!! You never know though from your lovely pictures, and it looks like you all had a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteIf you spent the whole summer waiting for a perfect forecast you'd never do anything in this country. And we actually all rather enjoyed our damp picnic. x
DeleteWhat lovely fmaily photos :) I love a picnic - hoping to get one in this weekend x
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat a picnic... food just tastes better when you sit on the floor to eat it! x
DeleteLoving the picnic and the picture. I'm such a loser and if rain was forecast I wouldn't of gone for a picnic but it sounds fun x
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, don't be a loser! It was actually really fun. We hid under a tree to eat and then the kiddos ran around in the rain and got soaked once they had eaten... they loved it. x
DeleteGorgeous photos as always. Glad you got the photos in before the heavens opened! :-) xx #meandmine
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I was very glad we got them done first or we'd have been stuck. x
DeleteThese photos are lovely Lucy, some of my favourites of yours! You all look very relaxed and happy, despite the fact you are about to get rained on. So exciting to be looking at baby names, I hope the pregnancy is going well and you look fantastic xx
ReplyDeleteThanks lovely, we enjoyed our rainy picnic more than you might imagine, it made it more of an adventure somehow. x
DeleteYou all look so contended, lovely photos and that boy is just the image of you! So glad it stayed dry for the photos! And I need one of those waterproof bags! xx
ReplyDeleteHe is definitely mine... definitely related to my side of the family anyway, whereas his sister is a bit more of a mixture. x
DeleteGorgeous family photos Lucy! And love the children's facial expressions! You look fresh as a daisy and as though you are well and truly blooming nw! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteI didn't really realise quite how comical the children's faces were until I uploaded them (especially the little man - no idea what got into him!). They really do make me smile when I look at them. x
DeleteSuch gorgeous photos! I think with this summer (or lack of) we are having, you do need to just get out and hope for the best x
ReplyDeleteWe've been pretty lucky with the weather of late... it just so happened that as soon as we made picnic plans the weather decided not to play along, and we decided to ignore it. x
DeleteI LOVE that second photo, the BB expression is so cute. You are looking amazing Lucy, really glowy! can't wait to hear what name you have picked when the time comes! x
ReplyDeleteI know, me too. His little face just makes me smile so much. And thank-you, I definitely feel like I'm more at the glowy stage now, and those horrible days where I felt like death warmed up are starting to feel like a distant memory. x
DeleteBeautiful pictures as always, I love your photos. Typical British weather though good on you for going for it!
ReplyDeleteYes, we just have to carry on regardless of the weather, don't we? And actually I think the rain kind of made it in the end. x
DeleteThe light is really lovely, you all look so happy. You especially are looking well, the months are certainly whizzing by aren't they? Thank you for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThank-you, we were having a lovely time and I think it shows. The months are certainly whizzing... I can't believe thats half a year gone already. x
DeleteThese pictures are so simple and cute. A picnic is the perfect capture. I love your little boys face! Eek so cute indeed. You are looking well too my love x x #MeandMine
ReplyDeleteThanks lovely. We hadn't done a picnic snap before believe it or not, and considering we tend to have picnics pretty regularly I thought it was about time we photographed one. x
DeleteBeautiful!! Hope the baby name search is going well! Oh my goodness The Raggy Dolls...is that back on or was he watching old ones!? I used to LOVE that as a child! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks lovely... I think we might be getting there on the name, which is exciting. And he's been watching old ones on YouTube, Poddington Peas is another current favourite. x
DeleteGoing out for a family picnic is a lovely way to begin the summer. We had our first this month too. I remember watching Raggy Dolls when I was little. We've still got our old videos ready for our son to watch when he is old enough to appreciate them! x
ReplyDeleteI think it's lovely to share the old classics with them; I loved Raggy Dolls as a child, and it's lovely that now he does too. x
DeleteOHHHHHH my goodness, best family captures ever this month Lucy. These are my favorite out of all the years you have done them. The kids look so happy as always and you are absolutely glowing!!! Even hubster is too! What a fun family picnic out. Thanks for hosting and hearts will melt when you add Flump to your beautiful family captures soon.
ReplyDeleteBB's facial expression in that second to last photo is utterly priceless! He's such a character! :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the baby name chats when I was pregnant - OK, OK, they were mostly arguments ;) It's such an exciting time though.
Thank you for hosting Me & Mine - I'm linking up for the first time ever. :)
Jenna at Tinyfootsteps xx
beautiful photographs. i really need to use the timer on my camera for ours!
ReplyDeleteThose white walkers really are something! I'm glad the rain held off for the shots....but it gives a more natural, 'English' feel to the pics!
ReplyDeleteVery brave of you venturing out for a picnic despite a bad forecast, but it looks like you had a great time. Lovely photos as usual, you all always look so happy in your Me and Mine pictures. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful photographs it looks like a lovely day despite the forecast and a great setting for your Me and Mine picture. I hope you have a shortlist of names drawn up soon! x
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo's as always Lucy, How amazing that you are going to have a whole series of photo's from when you were a three, to a four to a five. Amazing. You really make me want to learn how to take photo's - mine are rubbish in comparison but I'll be forever thankful for this linky that prompts me to take a photo of us all every month (even if it is a 6.30pm on the day haha) xxx
ReplyDeleteLovely photo and this linky does encourage us to document how are children are growing and changing. Lovely to see you at Blogtacular even though we did not get to speak. Take care of yourself and enjoy July!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous photos Lucy, you all look so happy and BB and BG look so much like you here! ReplyDeleteBeautiful as ever and you all look so HAPPY!
ReplyDeleteWe took our pictures just before the heavens opened too, and we ended up playing football in the rain, the littlies thought it was brilliant! I love how you all look so relaxed, I think a relaxed picture is the hardest kind to caputre with little ones, beautiful x
ReplyDeleteAs always beautiful photos. Lots of big changes coming for your family this year, all very exciting if a little bit scary. White chocolate sandwiches! I need to look into this, for Ethan of course ;0)

ReplyDeleteLovely photos Lucy. I love that you can't see your bump in these but you just know that there is another member of your family in these pictures, that you just can't see yet! The picnic in the rain sounds wonderful! xx
