in amongst the bluebells

Bluebells are something of an annual adventure for us. We've made a trip out to the woods to visit those beautiful purple flowers every single Spring, and it's always one of my favourite adventures. This year was definitely the best yet, with two bright and inquisitive little people searching for wildlife among the flowers, talking about bears and Gruffalos that may be hiding, and generally making the whole event into an even bigger adventure.

I can never resist bluebell photos, and the pictures we get in the woods each year always end up being some of my favourites, and this year is no exception. Add to that the fact that my children were having, quite literally, the BEST time ever... as they kept telling us, and you have a recipe for a snap happy mama. So apologies in advance for the sheer amount of pictures I'm sharing for this adventure... except I'm not really sorry at all.

And you can see our previous year's bluebell adventures here, here, and here.

^ they had to climb on practically every single tree stump
^ he sniffed the bluebells, pretended to sneeze, she laughed hysterically... and repeat
^ like a little pair of gnomes telling each other stories
^ quite possibly the cheekiest face on the planet
^ the fake sneezing to make his sister laugh continues
 ^ fearless little adventurer
^ she was utterly obsessed with finding these little pink flowers

This year we are embarking on a challenge to have an adventure every single week... 52 adventures!!! They may be big excited adventures or simple ones close to home, but we want to have a 2015 full of adventures and full of amazing memories.

adventure 16 : sunday lunch
adventure 17 : a 55th birthday party

  2. Just the perfect round-up of photos, Lucy... Those ones of them ducking amongst the bluebells! So sweet! You can just see their little personalities oozing out of the photographs! My Ava is obsessed with those little pink flowers too... They line our walk to nursery at some points, and she has to stop and pick one for me and one for Heidi every day! These little girls... You don't have to teach them to be girly, do you?!

    1. Thank-you Clarina. I love going and getting out bluebell snaps each year, it always so much fun. And I know exactly what you mean... at no point as she been taught to point out pretty flowers any more than her brother; and yet she seems to have this desperate urge to collect all the prettiness up to take home whenever she sees them. x
