Adventures, and life in general really, is all in the way you look at things. A trip to the shop might not seem like an adventure to many, but everything is an adventure when you are 3 and 2, and to be honest, a little trip to my favourite swedish interiors boutique is always an adventure in my mind. And Rich wanted me to call this post "the great meatball adventure" so clearly IKEA really does have something for everyone. I did stop short of calling the adventure that... mainly because we were too busy eating said meatballs to remember to take photos of that part of the adventure.
^ turns out this little lady didn't like the meatballs... we might have to trade her in!
^ testing out the light switches (they worked)
^ yes, Rich decided to set up the stuffed dog so it was drinking from the toilet... yes, he thought this was hilarious... yes, he gave some other shoppers a laugh too.
This year we are embarking on a challenge to have an adventure every single week. They may be big excited adventures or simple ones close to home, but we want to have a 2015 full of adventures and full of amazing memories.
I love that you call it the Swedish Interiors Boutique! :) I'm totally going to use that now ;) My 3 adore IKEA too - we have never tried the meatballs though. I'm gathering that we really should?? Gorgeous pictures Lucy xx
ReplyDeleteWe love going to Ika, and it's always an adventure. Gorgeous photos of something so simple x
ReplyDeleteIKEA is such a fun place to visit. We haven't been in awhile actually! x
ReplyDeleteShe didn't like the meatballs?! WHAT?! I've only had them once and I loved them. ha! I do wish we lived closer to one although I'm sure I would constantly be in there x
ReplyDeleteHaha people walking around ikea must have wondered what on earth you were doing taking photos in the different departments- like it was your house! ;) I also don't like the meatballs at ikea, bleugh! But I love a good trip there- it's definitely one of my happy place's! ;) x
ReplyDeleteHaha this is a brilliant post. We love IKEA and so much of our home comes from there too :D We love going to the Leeds Ikea- Little One also loves clambering on the beds and playing with the play kitchens like they're all his own. Definitely an adventure, especially when you get a hot dog, ice cream or meatballs at the end ;) Amelia x
ReplyDeleteAhhh... the beloved swedish interiors boutique! We are also great fans... of the furniture, of the family friendly feel, and, of course, of the meatballs!! Our home is pretty much all decked out in IKEA for the big furniture... though I have to admit I like the real scandinavian boutiques for the bits and bobs... one of the perks of being married to a Norwegian! Frequent trips back... I ADORE Ikea... but the "real" boutiques are on another level! Make sure you make a trip to Scandinavia one day!! You'd love it!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS PROJECT - Ikea is one of the best places on earth fact xx
ReplyDeleteWell Rich putting the dog on the toilet made me laugh! I wish we lived closer to an ikea
ReplyDeleteAaah IKEA. This used to be a regular date night location for my boy and I, before we had littlies!! Wednesday evening — around 7.30pm — is very civilised!! We used to go and have meatballs for supper before doing a bit of shopping!! LOVE it!! Haha!! :) X
