blue skies and big smiles

What is it about blue skies

and the way they seem to call you outside?
The white wisps of cloud just beg to be chased.
And we like to chase them all the way to the park.

We climb up the steps with determination
and finally, for the very first time,
make it up them alone
ready to slide back down to earth again.

We realise we can scale climbing walls
which had previously been reserved for 'big boys only',
and it makes us so proud that we can hardly believe we've done it.

We fly up high on the swings,
so high it feels like we could touch those wispy clouds.

We smile,
we laugh,
we squeal to be pushed even faster
and even higher.

We enjoy new rides
with great excitement,
and the fun of sharing an adventure.

We laugh uncontrollably 

and long to stay until bedtime.

And we hope that the blue skies are here to stay

so we can enjoy adventures like this every day.
