He lives for wide open spaces
and for fresh air.
he is showing more and more interest
in the trees, plants, flowers and wildlife
Even on days when he's feeling under the weather
(like he has been lately)
he still loves to be outside,
letting a breeze blow the cobwebs away.
The beautiful girl has always had an adventurous kind of spirit.
She is inquisitive
Lately this is increasing,
and she longs to touch, taste, squash, smell, climb over and look at
Her brother's love of the outdoors is rubbing off on her
and she tries desperately to chase him on all fours
and see whatever he is seeing.
And it never ceases to amaze me
how restorative the great outdoors is.
When I'm tired or run down . . .
fresh air,
the smell of grass,
a gentle breeze,
some sunshine;
they all act like a remedy.
Okay,
Gorgeous shots. We love the outdoors too. It fixes lots of things.
ReplyDeleteIt sure does. I can remember going for walks as a teenager, just to think about things. Fresh air is so healing. x
DeleteWe are huge fans of getting outdoors- really therapeutic and so important from an early age - especially at a time where so many kids end up glued to computer screen (says the blogger!)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. I think everything is about balance; we'd be naive to keep out children away from technology, but there is so much to enjoy about the world outside which doesn't need a battery. x
DeleteI like beautiful boys rain mac! My little boy is always happiest outdoors too, it's getting a bit difficult for me to chase round the playground after him now but we still have fun in the garden. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks. It's a fantastic mac; really waterproof and well made, with a fleecy lining. It's by Hatley.
DeleteI remember only too well that feeling of wanting to let them play outside but feeling so uncomfortable as a big bump got in the way. That's when gardens come into their own. x
So agree...hate being stuck indoors all day! Autumn is great at the moment to do some serious exploration!
ReplyDeleteIt's great this time of year. Not too hot, not too cold and so much going on nature-wise. x
DeleteRio loves the outdoors and all thing nature..if we aren't out bug hunting, bird watching or playing football it has to be wildlife on the tele :) gorgeous photos!! Little adventurers x
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I do think there is something built into boys and the way they learn and play is so in tune with being outside. It's like they actually NEED it. x
DeleteWhat gorgeous photos of them both playing. We love going outside too and even if we are just having a day at home, we have to go out for a walk in the morning- we just get cabin fever staying in all day. x
ReplyDeleteIt's rare we spend an entire day at home, even if its just a little stroll to the park we go out at some point. Kids just need that fresh air I think. x
DeleteBeautiful photos. I'm just the same. I try to go for a walk most days even if its raining. I remember when my nephew was the same age as your son, he used to shout "outside, outside" until he got to go outside. He needed some time outside everyday whatever the weather. I hope to encourage my little girl to be just the same.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, every time we visit my mum and dad's my little man will wave a hurried hello and run through to their dining room and stand at the patio doors asking to go in the garden. He just loves it. (And it was their garden that I took these photos.) x
DeleteGorgeous, gorgeous photos. We love it outdoors too. Daisy never wants to come in x
ReplyDeleteAhhh, thanks lovely. My little man would be outside permanently if he could be. x
DeleteBeautiful photos! I love the first one! Outside is our favourite place to be too. :) x
ReplyDeleteThat's one of my favourite photos too. Its the complete concentration on his face that I love. x
DeleteI agree, even when poorly as soon as they start showing improvement it's outside to blow away those cobwebs and kill the germs. (the weather we've been having lately would wash them away!) Gorgeous photos as usual :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha. I get that from my mum, the slightest sign of improvement with a lurgy and its outside for some air. Never fails!!! x
Deletei love your little girls outift. very cute. Fun shots!
ReplyDeleteThanks. The top is Polarn O Pyret, the jeans are Gap. Great for playing in. x
DeleteGorgeous photos. You just can't beat getting out there in the fresh air.
ReplyDeleteYou really can't. It does everyone the world of good. x
DeleteGorgeous photos. I love to see little ones exploring outside :)
ReplyDeleteMe too. My little lady is really starting to explore now, and the outside world is so fascinating to her. x
DeleteBeautiful photos of your lovely children having fun exploring nature and the world around them - what better way to learn than in natures playground. Thanks for linking up and sharing with Country Kids.
ReplyDeleteThank-you, and thank-you for hosting. Can't under value outside play in my opinion, it's great. x
Deletestunning photos of your beautiful boy and girl enjoying the garden Lucy. The outdoors is the best place for our litle ones to explore and discover exciting new things. and what lovely weatehr you had to capture these memories in x
ReplyDeleteThanks hun. We did have one lucky day with the weather this week, the rest of the time was a bit miserable. I think that was part of the charm of their exploring, they'd been a bit like caged animals all week. x
DeleteBeautiful autumn shots. Love your little man's mac x
ReplyDeleteThanks. His coat is from Hatley, it's brilliant. The little lady has a similar one coming for Christmas. x
DeleteLove your photos. Beautiful shots of your children enjoying the garden.
