and there is no other place guaranteed to make him smile more than in water.
He loves to splash,
to crawl around dipping his face in the water,
to play with his sponges and his toys.
He has done a lot of his firsts in the bath tub;
his first roll,
his first time sitting up,
his first time standing himself up.
It's definitely one of his favourite places
and therefore a perfect place to capture a water photograph.
This past week you've all been linking up your 'Eyes' pictures
and I have to say I've lovely looking at them all.
It wasn't easy to pick a winner this week
but with a little help
we settled on this picture from The Crumby Mummy.
Much as I have a big soft spot for big brown eyes,
I had to agree that this pair of sparkly blues are absolutely gorgeous.
And our lovely winner gets to show off this fancy badge if she wishes:
<a href="http://www.dearbeautifulboy.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll320/looby_boo/winnersbadge200.jpg" /></a>
And she also gets to chose the next photo challenge.
So your next theme is 'Love'.
With the recent weather
it turns out that our 'Water' theme was pretty apt.
Who knew that there could be so much water,
and in a drought too!
I can't wait to see your offerings this week.
Don't forget to grab the badge (which will hopefully be behaving this week)
tweet your link to @dear_beautiful_ so I can retweet you,
and try to get round and comment on each others photos when you can.

What a fab photo with the water droplets - how did you manage that?
ReplyDeletePS - got the winners badge working now so I have put on my sidebar thank you x
Awww, thanks I was really pleased with it. In fact I managed to get three good ones and then had to choose, so I was a bit spoilt this week. I used one of the manual settings on my camera that is recommended for sports or action. I'm still learning about some of the presets on my camera and making the most of them, but I think the basic idea is that it takes the picture really quickly, meaning that you can catch the water droplets.
DeleteI'm glad the badge is working for your this week. Not sure what was up with them last week. X
oh I'm useless aren't I never got round to linking up last week.. love water photos that one of is perfect with the droplets :) I just posted about having fun with water outside, but think i can find some nicer photos to link in here will be back... promise!
ReplyDeleteThere is always so much going in blog land that I don't think I ever get round to joining in with everything I'd like to in a week. But there was definitely a lot of opportunity for water pictures this week so hopefully you can get one linked up this time. I'd love to see it. X
DeleteI am totally in love with this picture Lucy, you have such a good eye! It's absolutely stunning and the beautiful boy looks beautiful as always! xxx
ReplyDeleteAwwwww, thanks hun. I'm really pleased with it, especially the water droplets. But I did take a lot of photographs, and I ended up with 7 or 8 really good ones. Fast moving water and fast moving baby don't make it very easy to get a good shot. X
DeleteHow exciting! I'm so pleased you chose my photo! I will wear the badge with pride! Your water photo is amazing! I have yet to take mine but don't think it will be anywhere near as fabulous as yours! Love how the drops of water jump out at you! x
ReplyDeleteYou should be very proud. It was tough to choose this week so I had to rope in a little husbandly help.
DeleteGood luck getting your water shot. There is plenty of it around to photograph!
And I'm glad you like my photo, I'm really proud of how is turned out, it is just what I was after just want sure whether I'd achieve it for not. X
A really deserving winner with beautiful blues! LOVE your photo this week, sheer brilliance! You are a master, well done! I live in hope of taking photos like these x
ReplyDeleteAwwww, thanks. I'm glad you like. I think it's a little bit of brilliant but a lot of perseverance that got it in the end. I always find when photographing little people that it's better to take too many and then you increase your chances of getting a good one. X
DeleteWhat a fab photo hun, the water droplets are great. No doubt mine will be in the bath as well! ;) I have a water baby too xx
ReplyDeleteI had great plans for taking a picture outside, especially as we overlook a river, but it's just been too cold and wet and miserable. So the bath it was, and I love the picture I managed to get. x
DeleteLovely bath shots of your boy. I'm always disappointed of pics I take of my little ones in the bath because the flash makes them look so ghostly. I should revisit the bath and try and get some good shots, inspired by you pic.
ReplyDeleteAwww, thanks. Luckily our bathroom is quite bright so the flash isn't really necessary which does help. However sometimes the flash really makes the picture, just depends I guess. Good luck taking some more bath pictures. X
DeleteI love this picture, amazing photography and beautifully captured. I dug through my archive to try and find a lovely summery picture - hoping that it will cheer everyone up!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, caught so perfectly
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo and love the droplets. I've got a little water baby too so ours are from splishy splashy time in the tub too :)
ReplyDeletelovely. bath time is loads of fun!!
