Splodge's Size:
My little Splodge isn't so little all of a sudden
and is now roughly the size of a cantaloupe.
I figure that's some pretty impressive growing over the last few weeks.
Splodge's Development:
By now Splodge is covered in that waxy coating that protects the skin until birth.
And Splodge now has an up and running digestive system
which is starting to make meconium,
also known as those black, tar-like first poos that sticks like glue to everything in its path.
My Size:
My waist is now measuring in at 37 inches
which is another inch and a half from a fortnight ago.
I'm still managing to wear all my normal clothes at the moment
which is great
and I'm hoping that the summer weather will have appeared just as I outgrow my jeans.
My Pregnancy Development:
I'm half way!
Little Splodge is half cooked already,
which seems incredible
because it only feels like last week we were announcing we were expecting.
I can definitely feel Splodge wriggling around now
especially in the early evenings and around lunch time.
My Body:
Well, I think we're bearing up pretty well,
especially considering we went through a gruelling three dance shows in a day and a half.
My hips and back ached a bit after that,
and it wiped me out a bit,
but on the most part I'm doing pretty well.
I'm getting some stomach pains
which I had last time and which we're diagnosed as round ligament pains.
It's basically where all my abdominal muscles are stretching and moving out of the way of my uterus.
My Appetite:
My eating habits have, on the most part gone back to normal.
Certain particularly rich foods are giving me heartburn,
especially roast chicken dinner which I'm devastated about because it's my favourite.
And I've definitely got a thing about ice pops,
a day rarely goes by when I don't have at least one
and more often than not,
I need 2 or 3 to be happy.
It's pretty awesome to think that I'm half way there already.
Twenty weeks seemed to take forever to come around last time,
but it's been much quicker with this pregnancy.
I think that is what is known as a very neat bump Lucy! Nice to be halfway (although as everyone knows, the second half lasts for MUCH LONGER!) x
ReplyDeleteI do feel very lucky. I had a very neat bump last time too so I'm hoping it'll stay that way.
DeleteAnd I know what you mean about the second half lasting longer. Especially as this time around I was already five weeks by the time I found out, so I had a bit of a head start on the count down. x
You are lucky to have a neat bump Lucy, it is a scrummy bump. My bump was huge, I was all bump, I didn't put weight on anywhere else but it was literally huge, i started showing at 8 weeks. Thats what you get for having a 9lb monster inside you ;) x
ReplyDeleteI only grew a dinky 7lb bubba last time. But my bump didn't show until 18 weeks really with either. So you really must have been all bump by the end. I really wish I had pictures from last time because I really can't remember what I was like. The joy of blogging is I'll have plenty of bump photos to look back on this time. X
DeleteWow you are tiny!! Very cute. I happened to be rather huge with both Kels and Kai although they both were less than 7lb, you'd never have thought it.. Not long to go now xx
ReplyDeleteI've got a friend who carried both hers with enormous bumps. She just seemed to carry a lot of water with them too.x
DeleteThat was the shocking bit. My waters were normal haha xx
DeleteSo exciting! You look gorgeous. Xxxx
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks. I am very fortunate that pregnancy seems to agree with me. X
DeleteDefinitely blooming!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, it would seem that way. I was just looking at my12 week picture and I can't believe the difference in 8 weeks. Scary! X
DeleteRuddy hell you look amazing! I was huge by 20 weeks with my 2nd! Everything goes by faster with the next child and that includes once they ate born and growing!! Xx
ReplyDeleteAwwww, thank-you hun. And don't say that Splodge will grow up faster.... :( ...... I already feel like my little man is growing up too fast. X
Deleteaww 20 weeks already it is flying by! your bump is lovely x
ReplyDeleteIt is certainly flying. I'm not sure if I want the next twenty to go fast again or to slow down a bit. I'm not sure I'll be ready if it goes too fast. X
DeleteYou look fab! Pregnancy obviously agrees with you lovely. I love these posts about Splodge's development :-)
ReplyDeletexx
Thanks hun. I am definitely very lucky. And I'm really glad that blogging is giving me an excuse to document this pregnancy. X
DeleteWowzers! You look amazing! What a lovely bump too x
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks. There are definitely some days that I don't feel too amazing but I'm definitely lucky with my tidy bump. But then, it's still early days really. X
DeleteWow, I do hope you were breathing in for that photo! Surely not 20 weeks!
ReplyDeleteNope, not breathing in. And I'm definitely 20 weeks. 20 and a half actually. But I've still got plenty of time left to get enormous, although I'm hoping I don't get too huge. X
Deletebeautiful little bump, glad everything is going well, you are definitely in the 'glowing' phase!
ReplyDeleteAww thank-you. But it's probably just the photo edit!!! Hehehe. I'm definitely enjoying pregnancy again though. X
