wishing and hoping and dreaming

Looking into a newborn babies eyes

you cannot help but feel hope.

I know that I had dreamed of becoming a mum 

for as long as I could remember.

For me, those little newborn eyes,

looking around the world for the very first time,

were my very own dream come true.

a birth story - part one

For the sake of my darling son's sanity,

I just wasn't sure that all the personal and disgusting details

should really ever be written down,

But this is the reality of his coming into the world

I have been fantasising about my ideal day down to the smallest details.

The result being that I spent a whole day of my weekend

My little guy absolutely loves knocking things over. 

It’s his latest favourite thing to do. 

That, and banging or shaking things to make a noise. 

So when The Wooden Toy Shop gave us the chance 

to test out and review the Big Jigs Stacking Cubes, 

I jumped at it.

You had learned to do so much, so quickly.

"my biggest pet peeve is..."

. . . people giving their parenting opinions a little too freely,

and meanly.

Just to be clear, 

I do know that this is par for the course

when you become a new parent.

But it can be so frustrating in those early days 

to be told by a random lady in the supermarket, 

how her daughter managed to get her baby to sleep in the buggy 

by using a specific brand of dummy.

Or when complete strangers diagnose your baby with colic 

just by the sound of their cry.
